Optimizing Medications to Your DNA
Why Precision Medicine is Important
Rx-Precision’s team leverages the established science of genomics to work with physicians, pharmacists and care teams to tailor and modify treatment based on each member’s individual genetics (DNA). Each of us have DNA that determines, among other factors, how we respond to medication and treatment. To be effective, medications must be processed through our DNA to be utilized in the body. However, many of us carry differences in our unique genetic makeup that cause us to respond to medication differently, potentially causing some medications to be ineffective, or even worse, harmful.
PGx-Guided Care is the process of analyzing an individual’s DNA to determine the best course of treatment for them individually, not simply based on trial and error, step therapy or standard clinical protocols. This process ensures that each individual we work with is prescribed medications that are going to be most beneficial and effective for them.
